Frequently Asked Questions

What color formats are supported? +
This tool displays colors in three formats: HEX (e.g., #2563EB), RGB (e.g., rgb(37, 99, 235)), and HSL (e.g., hsl(220, 83%, 53%)). You can click any value to copy it to your clipboard.
How do I create a color palette? +
Use the palette size slider to set how many colors you want (3 to 10), then click Generate. You can lock colors you like by clicking the lock icon, and regenerate to replace only the unlocked colors.
Can I lock colors I like while regenerating others? +
Yes! Click the lock icon on any color card to lock it. When you click Generate again, locked colors stay in place while unlocked colors are replaced with new random ones.
How are the random colors generated? +
Colors are generated using random values for red, green, and blue channels (0-255 each). This produces any of over 16 million possible colors. The HEX and HSL values are calculated from the RGB values.
Can I copy the entire palette at once? +
Yes, use the 'Copy Palette' button to copy all color values in your palette to the clipboard. The values are formatted with HEX, RGB, and HSL for each color, ready to paste into your design files or code.
