Meeting cost = Number of Attendees x Average Hourly Rate x Duration in Hours. The hourly rate should include salary, benefits, and overhead. A common rule of thumb is to multiply the base salary rate by 1.3-1.5 to account for total compensation.

Divide annual salary by 2,080 (52 weeks x 40 hours). For a $75,000 salary, that is about $36/hour. Add 30-40% for benefits and overhead to get the fully-loaded rate of roughly $47-50/hour.

There is no universal rule, but many companies aim to keep meetings under $500 for routine syncs. If a meeting costs more than the value of the decisions it produces, it may not be worth holding. Consider async alternatives for status updates.
