Frequently Asked Questions
Why do the same names always get the same score? +
The score is generated using a hash function on both names. This makes results deterministic, so you can share a score and the other person can verify it by entering the same names.
Does the order of names matter? +
No. The calculator sorts the names alphabetically before computing the score, so entering Alice and Bob gives the same result as Bob and Alice.
How is the compatibility score calculated? +
Both names are lowercased and combined, then run through a hash function that produces a consistent number between 0 and 100. It is purely for entertainment.
What do the different score ranges mean? +
Scores below 30 show a "just friends" message, 30 to 60 suggests "there might be something there," 60 to 85 indicates strong compatibility, and 85+ is soulmate territory. These are just for fun.
