Frequently Asked Questions
How is the headline score calculated? +
The score combines four factors: word balance (mix of common, uncommon, emotional, and power words), optimal length (6-12 words and under 70 characters), sentiment strength, and the presence of power/emotional words. Each factor is weighted and combined into a 0-100 score.
What is the ideal headline length? +
Research shows 6-12 words perform best for headlines. For SEO, keep titles under 60-70 characters so they display fully in search results. The analyzer checks both word count and character count.
What are power words and emotional words? +
Power words are persuasive terms that trigger action, like "proven", "secret", "ultimate", or "instant". Emotional words evoke feelings, like "stunning", "terrifying", "heartwarming", or "shocking". Both types increase click-through rates.
What score should I aim for? +
Aim for 60 or above. Scores of 70+ are strong, and 80+ is excellent. Very few headlines score above 90. If your score is below 50, try adding a power word, adjusting length, or making the benefit clearer.
